8 Effective Ways to Relieve Eyestrain

Before going to talk about the ways to relieve eyestrain, read this small paragraph. If a machine is running continuously for too long, it heats up, parts wear-out, and sometimes the parts have to be completely replaced. Our body works in the same way. But replacing new parts is not as simple as in a machine.

Your eyes, brain, arms, legs, everything needs rest. These effective ways help you to relieve eyestrain easily. Easy and simple steps that you can try out without any effort.

01. Blink Often

Every few seconds or so – when you’re paying close attention to your television or computer screen. Blinking moistens your eyeballs and relaxes your eye muscles.

Sometimes we forget to blink when we are working with so much focus. We forget to blink while driving a vehicle, playing video games and etc. In such cases, tears may flow from our eyes.

02. Warm Relief

Briskly rub your hands together until they grow warm, and gently place the heels of your palms over your closed eyes. Hold them there for a few seconds.

03. Cold Relief

If you soak a washcloth or hand towel in cool water, wring it out, and lay it over your eyes for five minutes, it will relieve strain.

04. Cucumber

Cool your eyes with sliced cucumber. Lie on your back and place one slice over each closed eye. Leave on the slices for two or three minutes, or replace the first pair with another, cooler set of slices.

Not only that, due to this habit, when waking up in the morning, the eyes feel as if they are glued together. Dimmers can be used to control the lighting in your bedroom. Or you can stop using the phone after going to bed.

07. Use Shades

In any bright sun – even in the winter – wear sunglasses. They will reduce eyestrain that comes from squinting. Choose sunglasses with yellow, amber, orange, or brown lenses. Light in the blue part of the spectrum is what makes us squint, and these lenses block it.

08. Wash Your Face & Keep it Clean

Get into the habit of washing your face after you come back from the street. All the smoke and dust emitted by vehicles on the roads settles on our skin and eyes.

Therefore, it is better to wash your face with soap after going on the road and coming home. It will give great relief to the eyes after removing the dust from the eyes.
