4 Steps Strategy to Study at Night

Why do you have to study at night? Sometimes you have sports activities, extra classes, etc. all day. In such a situation, we cannot allocate time to study in the afternoon or evening. There we have to use the night time or early morning for this.

Let us divide the night into two parts. The first part is the part before 12 midnight. The second part is the part after 12 midnight. Let’s see how the first part before 12 midnight can be used effectively for your studies. This is actually an action plan for you.

If you can execute this properly, it will yield much higher results. Because what I am going to tell you is a way to study for 4 hours a night. Sometimes, depending on the scope you are studying, studying for 4 hours a day may not be enough at all. If so, we resort to a more complex program. Until then, you can make the most of this method.

01. Change Your Night-time Habits

The first thing you should do is to get rid of the things you are used to doing at night and adapt to new habits. By now you are used to using social media, watching TV or playing computer games at night. But now that situation should be changed.

Here’s how to do it. First, you need to decide when to have dinner. It is better if we can have dinner between 7 and 8 pm, if not, we can use the second option.

First Option

If you can have dinner before 8 pm, you can use the four hours from 8 to 12 pm to study. I will mention how to do it step by step later.

Second Option

If you cannot have dinner before 8, this option can be used. Or if you like, if you feel good, you can use this method. I have provided you two options here. It is up to you to choose the preferred one.

In this option, you have to divide the four hours of study time into two parts. You can split it into two hours each or one hour and three hours.

To explain with an example, here you have to start studying around 7 pm. After studying for 2 hours you can have dinner around 9 pm. If you allow an hour for dinner, you can start studying again at 10 pm. You can study from then till 12 midnight.

02. Decide What You Study Tonight

I am not going to list the subjects here, as the subjects you study will vary with the grade you are studying, country, syllabus, scope and more.

However, do not use only one subject for this purpose. It is better if two subjects can be used. Otherwise, choose at least two lessons in the same subject. The reason for saying this is that studying at night is very boring. Not only at night, but at any time of the day, it is very boring. But at night the boredom increased. Because it makes you sleepy. If two different lessons or two different subjects are used, the boring nature will disappear a little.

03. Preparing to Study at Night

To start the first night shift, you have to prepare a lot. Prepare books, lecture notes, short notes etc. related to the decided subjects or lessons. This alone is not enough. In addition, prepare a tea or coffee in a bottle. Prepare something like a snack to eat.

Prepare a suitable place for studying. Also, if there is sleepiness in the eyes, it can be avoided by washing the face well.

04. Pomodoro Technique

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method. Here you can break the time into thirty minute segments. You study at night for 4 hours, so there are 8 pieces of 30 minutes.

In these thirty minutes, study for twenty to twenty five minutes and rest for five to ten minutes. During this break you can drink some coffee and eat some snacks. Again after that break, study like this for another half hour. You can run this cycle for the relevant four hours.

Similarly, after studying for an hour or two, switch to another subject or lesson. Avoid reading indiscriminately. Read the lesson carefully and attentively.

If this 4 hours time is not enough, you can extend this time a little from 12 pm to 2 am. Or, you can go to bed at 12 pm, wake up after 4 hours of sleep and study for two hours from 4 to 6 am. Now you say that a “person should sleep for at least 6 hours”. But I don’t want to tell you too much traditional stuff. Because you can find such things all over the internet.

So think more maturely. Some students sleep for 2 to 3 hours a day while studying. That is, the commitment of those students. So because of that, they pass the exams well. When you pass your exams well, you can go to sleep with a free mind.

Don’t worry too much about sleep. Because there is a maximum amount of time you can go without sleep. At the end of that period you naturally fall into a deep sleep. So, don’t worry about it. You won’t die because you slept less.

But a healthy sleep is also very important to maintain the good functioning of your memory. So I will never tell you that sleep is unimportant. But you may have to make some sacrifices for your studies.

So there is no need for big talk. This is the simplest way to explain how to study at night. This may seem very simple as you read. Yes, it’s really that simple. You can see the real power and value of this by practicing it daily or a few days a week.

Studying is possible only if there is a desire for it. Without it, no matter what methods you try, you will not be able to study. You cannot concentrate on the lesson. Therefore, develop a passion for studying. If so, you can study at night or anytime.
